The western region of Paraná, where
the Park is located, has the so called semidecidual
seasonal woods. Seasonal because it shows very
defined yearly seasons, with rainy summers (between
1,500 and 1,750 mm) and dry winters. Semidecidual
because some tree loose their leaves during
the winter in order to make up for the lack
of water.
In the northern area of the National Park and
in regions above 600m, native pine forests are
found. (Araucaria angustifolia). Photo.
